Cardinia Shire Council currently has an opportunity available for passionate and experienced Youth Services Officer. Working under the direction of the Youth Services Coordinator, you will assist with the development and delivery of a range of programs to support the health, wellbeing and development of young people in the Cardinia Shire. Council’s youth team members work together to deliver programs and services that assist our diverse community of young people aged 12 to 25 years to grow and develop. Council’s Youth Services supports long term outcomes for young people to: Be Safe, Be Healthy and Happy (physically and emotionally) Be Connected (to their education/training/work. their communities/families and each other), Realise their Potential (have the opportunities and support they need and want to be able to achieve and feel fulfilled) and Achieve Economic Wellbeing (to be able to have the things and the money that they need to live and have the support to achieve this).
To be successful in this position you will have a tertiary qualification in youth work or a related field; demonstrated experience in engaging and working with young people; excellent communication and problem solving skills; and the ability to work in partnership effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Position may require some after hours and weekend work.
A current Police Check and Working With Children Check is mandatory for this position.
